Our story
From electrical engineering to solar engineering.
Swee Seng was founded in 1985 as an electrical engineering practice in Johor, led by Lim Kok Cheong. Over the following decades it grew from residential wiring into full commercial and industrial electrical engineering: distribution, protection, and controls for demanding sites. In 2019 that engineering discipline moved into solar. Today, every system we design and commission is built on more than 40 years of electrical-engineering experience.

The foundation
Founded as an electrical engineering practice
Lim Kok Cheong established Swee Seng in Johor, bringing the electrical trade he had practised since the age of 14 into professional residential electrical engineering, the safety-first workmanship that still guides every SS Solar project.

Swee Seng began with Lim Kok Cheong's hands-on electrical skill and grew through decades of work in Malaysian homes, shops, and factories. Today, the next generation brings that discipline into solar, supported by designers, installers, operations staff, and an after-sales team based in Johor Bahru.
